Argosy Acquires Capewell Aerial Systems
On September 7, 2018, Argosy Investment Partners V, L.P. and its parallel fund, funds managed by Argosy Private Equity (together, “Argosy”) acquired Capewell Aerial Systems (“Capewell” or the “Company”).
Capewell Aerial Systems is a leading designer, manufacturer, and distributor of safety, tactical, parachute, and aerial delivery products for the defense, public safety, and law enforcement communities. The Company offers four core product segments of mission-critical components and systems, including: Life Support & Safety Products, Aerial Delivery Systems & Parachute Related, Timers & Sensors, and Technical Services. Furthermore, Capewell offers a robust portfolio of capabilities and manufacturing techniques that ensure the Company can satisfy customer needs, including: Technical Sewing and RF Welding, Machining, Precision Assembly, and Technical Services/Engineering/Distribution. The Company maintains strong relationships with large government prime contractors and is viewed as a vital part of the supply chain. Capewell owns and conducts operations from two primary facilities in Meadows of Dan, Virginia and South Windsor, Connecticut. The existing management team will remain with the Company post-closing.
Argosy will be focused on working with management to implement growth strategies for Capewell, which include expansion of the salesforce, new product introductions, distribution of additional products, and strategic tuck-in acquisitions of complementary companies.
